HETAS is the official body recognised by government to approve solid fuel domestic heating appliances, fuels and services. You can use its site to find qualified chimney engineers and chimney sweeps. The Solid Fuel Association is an advice centre on the use of solid fuels. The Carbon Monoxide Consumer Awareness Alliance works to ensure the public is aware of the dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning and how to keep themselves safe from this poisonous gas.
